FIBER IN METAL TUBES
PST
An optical fiber these days can be built to measure different values from the environment such as concentration of hydrogen, immersed light, radioactivity, chemical sensing and much more even in the roughest conditions. As such a fiber is made of glass which is very fragile, it needs a surrounding protection with the advantage to bring the environment directly in contact with the measuring fiber. NBG came up with a special FIMT solution which brings all the requirements in such a product by adding holes through the metal surface. What sounds like a simple solution is demanding highest accuracy in manufacturing as well as good engineering in order to provide a product which is able to provide the best operational performance.
