FIBER IN METAL TUBES
PLF
Fiber in Metal tubes made by NBG can be covered with a protective layer of different plastic materials. Such a plastic sheath is used to protect the FIMT against mechanical impact, to increase the crush resistance, to have a rodent protected cover for buried applications and much more. An advantage against an additional layer of stainless steel is the lower weight and higher elastically range. NBG can offer many different kinds of plastic material like Polyamide, Polyethylene, Fluor Polymers and much more, depending on the final application in order to provide maximum optical lifetime in the field.
