FIBER IN METAL TUBES
USC stands for Universal Cable which means flexibility, strength and powerful optical characteristics in one single cable design. The material composition is made of an inner tube which contains the optical elements, steel wires for more strength and flexibility and a polymer sheath on top of the construction in order to protect the components against various outer influences and give the cable more crush zone as it is required for a harsh handling in the field and environmental. Dimensionally changes can be optionally as well as the optical components are able to change upon customer requests.
